This Artist Recreates Famous Portraits And Works Of Art Using Simple Colored Pebbles.

The greatest wonders come from the simplest things and the ability to turn the most insignificant object into an indispensable tool. There is no object simpler than a brush, but how many people are able to use it to create something unique? Pebbles are something common, almost banal, but artist Justin Bateman manages to turn them into essential elements in his work. The Englishman uses stones of different colors and sizes to recreate the masterpieces of the history of art and the most famous faces. However, these works are ephemeral: Justin likes to create them on the spot, perhaps on the beach, in the woods, or in the street; and, after being admired by passers-by, the artist leaves the work to the environment in which it was created: incredible but ephemeral works, and perhaps astonishing precisely for this reason. From the Mona Lisa to the Girl with a Pearl Earring, we have selected a few works. Don’t forget to tell us which one is your favorite.

#1. Michelangelo and the two most famous hands in the world.
